The Technologically Advanced Accord Coupe
With the Accord Coupe, you can truly have it all, without the guilt. Because not only is this a beautiful, powerful machine, it's also easier on the environment. In this case, seeing really is believing. The pure, streamlined shape of the Accord Coupe actually improves aerodynamics to enhance gas mileage and increase efficiency. In fact, the Accord Coupe gets an estimated 34 mpg highway and 26 mpg city (5-speed manual models). And, as an added bonus, all Accords run on regular unleaded gasoline.
In January 1995, Honda unveiled a prototype of the Accord that met the stringent California Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standard. Honda then went on to become the first manufacturer to offer ULEV-rated emission technology on a production vehicle. Today, Accord V-6 models sold in California and parts of the Northeast are rated as Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicles (ULEV-2). Four-cylinder models with automatic transmission sold in the same areas meet even stricter Partial-Zero-Emission Vehicle (PZEV) standards.
Both Accord engines now produce more power with greater economy—because nobody ever said that being kind to the environment had to mean sacrificing fun. |
